10 Classic Rock Tunes to Listen to while Riding

Looking for a playlist that fits your rock n roll taste in music? We love rock n roll as much as we love motorcycles, so we thought of creating a list of tunes that we love to listen to, while cruising down the road. Here’s our top ten pick

ROCK HARD, RIDE FREE BY JUDAS PRIEST

Rob Halford loves driving cars and riding his motorcycles, so it’s only natural that he writes many songs alluding to the art of speed

“Tough as steel, stop at nothing, look at fate in the face, don’t take no for an answer, grab the lead in the race,” sings Halford.

Ride Free is a message to live life to the fullest and to not let anything stop you. What better way to do that than on a motorcycle? You’re going to feel like the sky is the limit. (but, please be safe!)

    RIDE THE WIND BY POISON

Poison’s Bret Michaels may have always been called the pretty boy of glam rock but Ride the Wind is great tune, nonetheless.

Although the band didn’t really explain the meaning of the lyrics, it’s widely thought that Michaels had started riding motorcycles, Harleys particularly, during this time. He didn’t waste time and turned his experience into a song, “Hearts of fire, streets of stone, modern warriors, saddle iron horses of chrome.”

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE BY BON JOVI

The reason behind Bon Jovi’s song Wanted Dead or Alive is actually about touring experience, here touring means their concerts. But, this song can be thought in the context of riding/touring on a motorcycle, where a motorcycle rider drifts rides from town to town, looking to find himself or herself.

“I’m a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride, I’m wanted dead or alive.”

Movie producers were a big fan of this song and featured it in movies such as Harley-Davidson and the Marlboro Man (1991) and again in Wild Hogs (2007).

RIDE TO LIVE, LIVE TO RIDE BY TWISTED SISTER

“You’ve got to ride to live, live to ride, feel the flames burn inside…”

Have you seen lead singer of Twisted Sister, Dee Snider, dressed in drags, fishnets and lingerie with thick makeup, in the music video of I Wanna Rock? You wouldn’t have guessed hat it’s the same band that actually wrote this song. Heck, Snider may be the only man alive who could dress so and look cool on his bike!

IRON HORSE/BORN TO LOSE BY MOTÖRHEAD

The words of this song “On iron horse he flies, on iron horse he dies” immortalizes this one for the diehard biker.

This song by Motörhead’s frontman, Lemmy, dedicated this song to those who volunteered to be the band’s unofficial bodyguards.
